Working with Converteam, we are proud of our long history of providing control systems for both military and commercial ships. These systems help control many of the most essential processes on any ship, from the positioning and navigational systems to engine speed and fuel and ballast levels.
Many of our systems form part of the bridge control consoles, enabling fast, accurate control of the ship. Controlling an array of drive pods on the hull, for example, is vital not only for ensuring the ship's direction is accurate but also for safety.
GPS ship positioning systems are equally important, enabling extremely accurate plotting of a vessel's position by comparing readings from up to three sources. Dynamic Positioning Systems use satellites, laser beams or even anchored lines to gauge position and allow a ship to remain steady over a single point, such as an oil well.
Our most comprehensive system yet was for the US Coastguard's scientific research vessel, USS Healy, and we have also equipped the Royal Navy's Type 45 Destroyers, including the HMS Diamond and HMS Dragon. Civilian ships carrying Europa technology include BP's fleet of LNG's (Liquified Natural Gas Carriers), Noble's Roger Eason drilling vessel and Cunard's liner the Queen Mary 2.
